PRESS RELEASE 214/2011

Clarification of the municipal administration of an article published today in The New Sardinia

The resolution will be discussed Wednesday, December 14 at the City Council does not address the issue of paid parking in town. The measure, called "Rules for the monetization of parking areas and identification of cases and areas where the same is permissible," provides for the payment of fees by private individuals that require a building permit, in extension, pursuant to House Floor , in case of impossibility to find reasons of space for parking, as determined by the Regional Law n. 4 of 23 October 2009. The City states that, contrary to what is shown on "La Nuova Sardegna", on page 22, was not covered by strict confidentiality of any project allegedly paid parking in town. The regulations at issue in the City Council, assessed by the Commission Board of Public Works, has nothing to do with the creation of parking spaces with ticket, but to discipline the monetization of private land for parking in case of intervention adaptation and extension of existing buildings, provided by the Regional Law n. 4 of 23 October 2009, falling within the homogeneous urban areas A, B, C, D, F and G.

Interventions in the home are, therefore, subject to finding space for parking. Assuming that these areas are unable to locate the operation is permitted upon payment of a sum equivalent to the monetization of the areas for parking, according to a specific regulation to be brought to the attention of the City Council tomorrow.
